Involving to the global blindness prevention and advocacy in giving voice to our collective
commitment to universal eye health, Caritas Takeo Eye Hospital (CTEH) hosted the World Sight
Day was on October 13, 2014 at the hospital supported by corporative partners to highlight the
attention to avoidable blindness and rehabilitation where are available services locally.

MA. Te Serey Bonn is appointed as program director of TEH (Takeo Eye Hospital)
after he has been working with TEH for ten years.The appointment ceremony was
held on February 13, 2012 at Takeo Eye Hospital and presided over by Bishop.
Kike Figaredo,Chairman of Caritas Cambodia, Mr. Kim Rattana, Executive Director of Caritas Cambodia
and Mr. Hem Saret head of Takeo provincial health office and Sr. Myrna Porto DC former program

 The World Sight Day 2011

In the early morning of October 12, 2011 before the opening ceremony begin, we provided eye
health education for 30 minutes to all patients how to take care for eye health and available eye services
in Cambodia. At the meantime, we also illustrated the purpose of the World Sight Day in order to make
them aware about enormous burden eye issues and eye health in the world. This purpose of this event
was presented every early morning during event.

In promoting people with eye problem to access eye care services in order to reduce avoidable blindness in Cambodia through the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) and VISION 2020: The Right to Sight; Caritas Takeo Hospital (CTEH) agreed with National Program for Eye Health (NPEH) selected the special theme is Diabetic Retinopathy for the World Sight Day was held on October 09, 2012 to provide free of charge eye care services including eye consultation and eye treatment such as medicine, laser and surgery to all people in Takeo Province and around Cambodia. The purpose of this event was promoting to people with diabetes need to have eye check up regularly because diabetic retinopathy causes to blind due to its severe consequences cause either retina hemorrhage, macular edema or traction retinal detachment…etc.
